Tuzla airport serves three cities; Tuzla, Herzegovina and Bosnia. With its ideal location, the airstrip allows tourists to travel to any of the three cities and sample some of their attractions. There are plenty of car hires at the airport one can hire and travel to any of the three cities easily.
Activities to do in Tuzla
This has to be the first city on your schedule to visit. Not only do some of the tourist spots preserve the history of the town there are some other spots within the city that are pretty hilarious in the activities going on there.
- Tuzlanski Pilsner - this is a local den within the town where beer drinking is the pass time of the day. The area is large and the number of people flocking there to wet their whistle is humongous. If you are a beer drinker, you can join in the indulgence; otherwise you can stop by for a funny photo as you proceed to other attractions.
- The Shed of Srebrenica - this spot holds a grim past of Libya. On this exact location is where thousands of Muslims males were massacred by the Serbians. The massacre was so grim that it inspired two books, Endgame as well as Balkan Ghosts.
- Korzo Walking Streets - this is a busy street in the town with lots of things going on. It has some of the best shopping areas that travelers and locals flock to shop as well as eating areas if you want to sample the local cuisine. Right at the end of the street is a place called kapija; this place also has a ghastly story of teenagers being killed by a mortar.
- The City’s View Point - you can access this point if you are in the Slatina neighborhood of the city. Just drive up the road that leads to the hills in your car hire until you come across a village. Besides mingling with the locals, you will get a chance of viewing the city from the air alongside the beautiful countryside that sparkles in both sunrises and sunsets.
- Rijeka river - another iconic natural landmark of the town. Rijeka River is a pretty sight to behold, especially at night when it sparkles in the moonlight.
Tuzla is a fun place to be in even without having to travel to its outskirts. However, if you feel the road trip rush inside you, you can pack and drive out in your car hire to the neighboring city of Herzegovina.
