Wuhan, the capital of the Chinese province of Hubei, is a very important city of Central China. The city is also one of the most populous cities of the country. This beautiful city is also referred to as 'Chinese Chicago' as times. It is one of the most ancient cities in China and it attracts a lot of tourists every year.

In fact, human settlement in the city began as early as 1500 BC. Over the years, Wuhan has also become a very important financial and cultural centre of the country. The city also has a lot of historical importance and it is also the place where the famous Battle of Wuhan took place between Japanese and Chinese forces, in October of 1938.

Mao Zedong's Summer Villa

A visit to Wuhan would be incomplete without visiting the famous Summer Villa of Chairman Mao, situated in the city. The villa is situated near the Hubei Museum. It was built in an old fashioned (1950s way), keeping with the ideal of Communism, because of which the villa looks like a very humble house. Best Time to Visit - The best time to visit Wuhan is during the winter months of November to February when the climate is cold and pleasant. Also, the city should be avoided during the monsoons.

Climate - Wuhan has a humid and subtropical climate. The climate is usually mild during the winter months and very hot and humid during the summer months. The city receives abundant of rainfall and also enjoys 4 different seasons. In winter, the temperature lies in the range of 0°C to 10°C. While in summer, the temperature lies in the range of 25°C to 33°C.
